# Edgy Systems

> Edgy designs, builds and operates microgrids on commercial and industrial sites.
> Power in months, no capital expenditure on the assets, and a bill that keeps falling.

Edgy is an industrial infrastructure company powered by software. Sites come to us for
two reasons: they cannot get the grid capacity they need, or they are paying too much for
the power they already have.

There are two ways in.

**Edgy InSync** is an autonomous energy operator for a site you already run. A gateway on
site plus a control layer reads the site live, runs the assets as one system, matches every
kWh to the cheapest source available, and offers spare flexibility into ancillary markets.
It runs over assets you already own, and is embedded in every Edgy Microgrid.

**Edgy Microgrids** are a modular combination of assets, sized per site, that we originate,
model, finance, design, permit, procure, install and operate. The customer signs a long-term
agreement, typically 10 to 15 years, for energy at a rate below the grid, and puts up no
capital for the assets. Edgy remains the system operator for the life of the agreement.
Three configurations cover most of what industry needs:

- Battery — flexibility on site: lower energy cost and an easier grid connection.
- Battery + CHP — run the engine at its best point, heat decoupled from the power sale.
- Gas boiler + electric boiler + thermal storage — the cheapest available heat.

Time to power for a battery and CHP retrofit on an existing industrial site is around
6 months end to end, against roughly 20 months via a traditional integrator route.
